Prime Minister David Cameron blasted Phillip Schofield’s stunt to hand him a list of names (sourced from internet searches) on live TV as a “silly stunt” and “irresponsible”. What a total fool – he should get the same punishment as twitter name droppers. Both Schofield and ITV have apologised for his actions and hope that no one could read the names… Muppet, if you believe everything on the t’internet then you should be wiping your dribble now..!

Senior #government official has sparked anger by advising internet users to give fake details to websites to protect their security. #AndySmith, an internet security chief at the #CabinetOffice, said people should only give accurate details to trusted sites such as government ones. What planet does he live on? Trust Government websites, I now better than many (most) that you should NEVER trust .gov.uk websites, EVER! What a total idiot for stating such rubbish which would lead to a false internet that cannot be trusted. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-20082493
Mr Smith’s comments were backed by Lord Erroll, chairman of the Digital Policy Alliance, a not-for-profit policy study group which “claims” to speak for industry and charities, who was chairing the panel. He said he had always given his date of birth as “1 April 1900” – another one that fell of the same cart!

    Advice that is correct:
Only enter correct or any personal details into websites that YOU know, never enter details in to websites that appear from popups, links from emails saying they are your bank, phone provider or anyone you may know. If it is a real request, a company will instruct you to visit their official website and a specific area. Always ensure you read Terms and Conditions and the page is secure (https:// and a padlock appears on screen) if you are passing on details.
Never trust a government site just because is a gov site – in my vast experience of these sites most are poorly constructed, lack basic security and would easily be hacked into by undesirables. Also be wary of utility company websites – some are not what they appear on the face of it.

In closing, It’s time Mr Smith was removed and replaced with a public officer with sense. Also the self appointed group and Lord Erroll need to be disbanded for giving false and poor information. It is no wonder the UK are falling being many developing countries in internet access and use.

    Tags: fool-of-the-month-award, , Monmouthshire,

This week Monmouthshire council launched a new website, powered by free open source CMS TYPO3, a very good CMS, when used by professionals who know how to design.

Currently they are using a large amount of design from my (Mcc) website and the base template is in fact built upon my HTML/CSS template, but now this is NOT my design.

I officially distance myself from the mess that is now at http://www.monmouthshire.gov.uk
I do have many screen shots and will post some to my site soon.
