UPDATE: Game Group shares suspended from trading. Shares in the video games retailer Game Group have been suspended from trading “pending clarification of the company’s financial position”.

The firm has seen its business eroded by competition from online-only retailers, such as Steam and Amazon. Last week, Game confirmed that a number of suppliers were refusing to do business with the company.
The group, which is headquartered in Basingstoke, has 1,300 stores worldwide, including 600 in the UK.
Shares in Game closed at 2.39p on Tuesday, having fallen from 62p a year ago.

I have had a few tweets about this post, it appears that many readers are totally missing the point I have made, or tried to make. As a designer it is your job to make the journey as easy as possible within a website.
It appears developers don’t share this view, but as the customer is always correct, in this instance, I too am correct, and PDF’s and Word documents must be removed where ever and when ever possible…
It is only acceptable on todays web to have files to download when they are required as “downloads” or the document size is so large that only a link is realistic, and when the website has an explanation of the contents, a description of the file type and size along with suitable download times (averages) so a user is in complete control. This is what good design is about, something it appears developers of today think nothing about!
Good thing that User Experience and Journey designers like myself exist then…
